About Us

BAB Steering Hydraulics, Inc. is a re-manufacturing company founded in Whittier, California in 1986 by Bill Carlson. BAB relocated to its present headquarters in Fontana, California in 1993. BAB also has a re-man and factory warehouse in Gainesville, Georgia that supports distributors in the north and southeast and fee-only warehouse facilities in Cincinnati, Ohio, Lake Crystal, Minnesota and Miami, Florida.

BAB specializes in re-manufacturing all makes and models of power and manual steering components for the transportation industry, both on and off highway; from a 2 ton in town delivery truck to class 8 vehicles including school buses and rural transit district buses, fire, construction, and farm equipment. If a vehicle has a steering gear or pump, BAB can handle the request 99% of the time. All units produced by BAB Steering Hydraulics meet or exceed industry specifications. Each unit is completely disassembled and thoroughly inspected. Unlike the current industry standards, BAB Steering Hydraulics replaces or re-machines any part that does not meet or exceed industry specifications. For this reason, BAB considers itself a re-manufacturer, not a re-builder.

The Standard

Each BAB location and facility, has it’s own quality remanufacturing capability allowing for individual customer re-man requests, faster stock order turn around time, reduced freight charges and expedited delivery schedules. BAB locations boast over $1,000,000 in combined inventories available for immediate shipment.

BAB attributes its growth and success to dedicated personnel, commitment to quality through education, and a trusting relationship with each of their quality Heavy Duty aftermarket parts distributors.

Courses

BAB is dedicated to establishing an unequaled industry standard through the proper education of supervisors, mechanics and everyone associated with the transportation industry.  BAB offers courses in steering hydraulics throughout the continental U.S. The correct maintenance and repair procedures of the steering and hydraulic system are important issues that need to be addressed in our industry today in order to maintain the safety and integrity of the steering system.  Educational classes are available through any of our over 175 distributors in 40 + States, Puerto Rico and Canada.  Classes are often available in colleges or trade schools.
